A Social CV
The ‘Social Media CV’ Evolution
Your data is in the stream. Bits and pieces from your online conversations, comments, picture uploads and all the stuff people have said about you. Some bits are in the open, some are protected by your personal privacy settings.
Take charge of your personal data stream, Decide what to present where and make all the best pieces available for your customers. Whether your customer is a recruiting company looking for hire or a company looking for brain power.
The purpose of this blog is..
For you:
- to provide you with an example of a social CV
- to give you tools on how to build your personal brand and reputation online
- to keep you posted on how the social recruitment is evolving
For me:
- to present my digital streams in one place
- to enhance my chances of being found
- And obviously, to be invited to make presentations and workshops.
Why a Social CV?
For +15 years I have worked with internet technology connecting people to work and work places.
Social media is just perfect for this purpose; Employees can present and promote their skills and gives employers information such as true motivation and interests – besides all the usual previous jobs and currents skills yadadada
As contrast to job ads and job application: Social media “cuts the gap*” between employer and employee.
Imagine you never had to write a job application to get a job you really want
This is exactly what my vision of a social CV is all about. Job applications belongs to the print age. With a social CV you can provide all the information needed for a recruiter to understand whether you could be an asset to their company. And the recruiter can decide, based on how well your preferences match the company, to invite you to participate in a dialogue about a future job. Companies can save time consuming filtration processes; you may not like to be one out of 250 job applicants, but dismissing 245 job applications takes time for the recruiter as well.
