MY VISION

Transparency and free flow of ressources

I support a vision of a  more transparent work market, a free flow of ressources and empowerment of the professional person.

The internet itself has done its share of making access to jobs more transparent. Social media has made it possible for companies to engage directly with potential employees – and vice versa.

Social CV-services are the “job boards” of the future

During 2011 a handful of social cv-services has launched, thesocialcv.com being one of them and as they write on their blog: “CV databases are seen as a necessary evil by many… However, we know that when they work, they prove the most timely and cost effective solution for reactive recruiters. Social profiling allows for a real time candidate search…

Would you employ someone tomorrow without checking out their social credentials first?

Like thesocialcv.com, peerindex.net and vizualise.me I  believe pre-interviews are a thing of the past, because any serious recruiter will have

  • a full work history of a candidate
  • know if they have been recommended by clients and colleagues
  • know exactly what the potential employee looks like and the kind of personality traits they portray
  • what kind of social sphere they operate
  • how they present themselves within their corporate arena
  • the places they frequent
  • the blogs that they comment on and the kind of groups they find of interest.
  • Viewing a candidates online equity can do a far better job of assessing cultural fit than any first interview.

The End of the Job Application (as we know it)

And I also believe that a recruitment success is no longer messaured in number of applications.A successful recruitment means attracting that one candidate who matches the company in values, beliefs and therefor is motivated for the job.

Would you miss writing job applications for a job? Probably not – I have never met a single person who enjoyed writing job applications. Not to mention the nerve wrecking wait for reply. Even less the rejection without explanation. The bottom line is that writing job applications as reply to job ads takes time, you have no clue about the outcome and it certainly does not give you insight. In my world this is the exact definition of “Time Wasted” or ROI-zero (no return on investment).
