Slideshare Pro ROI

I have been using Slideshare for quite a while. Primarily for publishing my presentations. The advantages are obvious:

  • I save a lot of time
  • I generate traffic
  • I brand my name
Time saving
I don’t have to e-mail afterwards. All I have to do is write my username once: www.slideshare.net/mariannesteen.
Remember how it was to e-mail powerpoint presentations as attached files? Sometimes i share my power points as ppt sometimes as pdf. As I use the free version of pdf (like most other people) a pdf’ed presentation easily exceeds 10MB. Meaning you have to seperate into 2 or 3 parts. Before pdf’ing each presentation.
And – to my experience – after a few weeks you get an e-mail from at least one of the participants asking about the presentation (I didn’t get it, could you please mail it to me again).
When it comes to sharing documents – e-mail is so last year!
Growth
My presentations on Slideshare are public. (I have upgraded to Slideshare Pro to have the possibility of creating private shares). For each presentation I publish, I get new followers on my Twitter Account. And more views on my Linkedin profile. Both my Twitter account and my Linkedin Profile links to my blog.
Branding my name:
I use the same username in all my social media networks.
